Established in 1957.
The Adventure of our Credit Union.
Expedition Credit Union provides financial services to Minnesota's community & their families who live, work, worship, go to school or do business in Anoka, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey or Washington Counties, those who are members of the Expedition Foundation, as well as other select employee groups. As a not-for-profit cooperative, we provide banking services while returning profits to members through dividends and lower loan rates.
How it Started
Inspiring and educating along the way.
Expedition Credit Union was founded in 1957 as MEA Credit Union to serve Minnesota educators. In 1999, following the merger of the state's two major teachers unions into Education Minnesota, we became United Educators Credit Union to reflect our broader membership base.
Over time, our commitment to financial education and community service grew, and in 2019 we expanded our field of membership to the people of Anoka, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, & Washington County.
To better represent our diverse and growing community—and to break the perception that we only serve educators—we rebranded as Expedition Credit Union. The name reflects not just financial goals, but the journey we take together.

Today, with over $230 million in assets and 15,000+ members, Expedition Credit Union offers a full line of financial services, and currently operates branch locations in Apple Valley, Coon Rapids, and Woodbury, MN. Although the credit union has undergone many changes over the years, the strength, dedication, and commitment we bring to the education community remains.
We are proud to be the only credit union sponsored by Education Minnesota ESI and value the opportunity to serve educators and school personnel statewide.
